Hong Kong Event

CQAsia is a new organization which hosted the First Annual CQAsia Conference in Hong Kong on October 24 - 25, 2012

The goal of CQAsia is to have an affiliated organization located in Asia that will address the needs of quantitative professionals in the region.  Our goal is to have individuals in the area get involved in the program development and conference planning. CQA is an organization that has a successful history of member involvement, and we hope that CQAsia will follow the same path.  Local member support is very important, especially given the distance and differences in member goals.

The first conference was held at the offices of Credit Suisse on the 88th floor of the ICC Building in the Kowloon section of Hong Kong. We had over 90 attendees, which included CQAsia members, CQA members and guests. A cocktail reception was held the evening prior to the event at Ozone located in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on the 118th floor of the ICC.

The conference included presentations by leading quantitative professionals from both Asia and the U.S.

This first time event brought leading industry professionals together from not only Hong Kong and the U.S., but also from Europe, Australia, India, Maylasia, Japan, Singapore and Mainland China.

The CQAsia Program featured leading quantaitative practitioners and respected academics in the field of finance.

The dinner after the first day of the conference was held at a well known seafood restaurant in the Sai Kung area.  The group enjoyed the chance to sample some of the local delicacies fresh from the sea.  Everyone had a chance to converse and get to know one another during a terrific meal. It was a memorable experience!
